(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs community is concerned and grieving after two people were found dead in a dorm room at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) on the morning of Friday, Feb. 16.
University of Colorado Regent Ken Montera said Friday morning, “I want to express my deep concern and heartfelt prayers and thoughts for those who are affected by the shooting today on the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, campus.”
The investigation is still active, and Montera expressed grief that the incident occurred despite a commitment to safety and security on campus.

“I wanted to share and express my concern for those families and know that we will do everything possible to support the investigation and the police to determine the cause of this horrific tragedy. Again, my heartfelt condolences. Prayers and thoughts are with the families and friends of the individuals that were affected today,” Montera said.
