New concerts announced at Sunset Amphitheater in Colorado Springs

Three big names are the latest additions to the Sunset Amphitheater lineup.

Country music star Dierks Bentley will perform Aug. 30 and Americana duo Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will bring their “Can’t Let Go” tour to the stage Aug. 31. Tickets for both shows go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at sunsetamphitheater.live or axs.com.

Fellow country singers Chase Rice and Zach Top will open the Aug. 30 concert at the new 8,000-seat, open-air venue on Colorado Springs’ north side, southeast of Interstate 25 and North Gate Boulevard in the Polaris Pointe development.

Bentley, who released his debut album in 2003, now has 22 No. 1 hits in his career, including “What Was I Thinkin’,” “Come a Little Closer,” “Settle for a Slowdown,” “Every Mile a Memory,” “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)” and “Feel That Fire.”

His 2018 album “The Mountain” was written and recorded in Colorado. “Gravel & Gold,” his tenth album, dropped a year ago.

British singer-songwriter Plant and Grammy Award-winning bluegrass country singer and violinist Krauss have collaborated on two albums through the years. “Raising Sand” dropped in 2007 and “Raise the Roof” in 2021, featuring the popular songs “High and Lonesome” and “Going Where the Lonely Go.”
