Two days of ‘hazardous weather’ expected in Colorado

More hazardous weather is on the way to Colorado.

According to the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center, heavy rain could become hazardous across much of Colorado on August 19 and 20. Mapping shows that this risk encompasses nearly the entire western half of the state, along with the general Denver and Colorado Springs areas.

Rain of this nature can lead to flooding, rockfall risk, and low visibility while traveling.

Travelers should be cautious never to enter flooded areas, as many flooding deaths are related to this practice. Burn scar areas can be particularly problematic, as can low-lying canyons. If flooding starts to occur, seek higher ground immediately.
