Down Syndrome Walk raises over $100K for local families

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Hundreds of people laced up their shoes on Saturday, Sept. 7, and headed to the Norris Penrose Event Center for the 25th Annual Down Syndrome Walk.

FOX21 News teamed up with the Colorado Springs Down Syndrome Association to raise funds for local families with loved ones who have Down syndrome. Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show support, the annual walk celebrates the community’s diversity and unity for a common cause.

FOX21 Evening News Anchor Scott Kilbury emceed the event. According to the website, the fundraising goal of $100,000 was surpassed, with a total of $109,639 raised.
