CSPD: Three injured after vehicle collides with ambulance

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A vehicle crashed into a parked AMR ambulance around midnight Saturday, Sept. 14, injuring three people, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

CSPD reported that when officers arrived near the 2200 block of South Chelton Road, between Jet Wing Drive and Astrozon Boulevard, they found that a Ford Mustang had rear-ended the ambulance. The ambulance was responding to a separate call and did not have a patient on board.

The three people in the Mustang were taken to a hospital, with one treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. CSPD said the driver, Mautinoa Tata, was arrested on charges of vehicular assault, DUI, prohibited use of weapons, and reckless driving.
