COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A alleged car thief is waking up in jail after trying and failing to escape police Wednesday. Detectives with the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Motor Vehicle Theft Unit allegedly caught the suspect red-handed driving a stolen Nissan Rogue in the area of Half Turn Road and North Academy Boulevard. The SUV had been reported stolen that morning.
