The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said no suspicious objects were found after a sweep of the Walmart on Platte Avenue and Chelton Road.
According to CSPD, on Friday, Sept. 27 at around 11:45 p.m. Walmart’s bakery section received a call from an unknown person who gave information about a bomb placed at a specific location within the store.
CSPD said store management consulted with members of law enforcement including an extra duty officer, and ordered an evacuation of the store. Additional CSPD resources were called to help and after a thorough sweep of the store by members of the Regional Explosives Unit, no suspicious objects were found.
Walmart returned to normal operations at around 2:30 p.m. and police are investigating the possible origin of the call.
