(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that multiple stolen vehicles were used to burglarize a business around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. One vehicle was used to ram through the front of the business, and another served as a getaway car.
According to CSPD, officers responded to the 3000 block of North Hancock Avenue, near East Fillmore Street and Templeton Gap Road, after a caller reported a vehicle had crashed into the front of a business. Multiple suspects were seen running into the building. Shortly after, the suspects left in a waiting vehicle, leaving behind the car that had rammed the building.
CSPD said officers discovered the vehicle used to crash into the business was an unreported stolen car. After reviewing surveillance footage, they identified the license plate of the getaway vehicle, which was also an unreported stolen car. The footage showed 5 people entering the business and stealing an unknown amount of merchandise. The incident remains under investigation.
