(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) reported that crews will temporarily close southbound I-25 at South Academy Boulevard for several nights during the week of Sunday, Sept. 29, as part of a traffic switch for the Military Access, Mobility & Safety Improvement Project ( MAMSIP ).
Improvements include removing barriers, installing signage, and completing drainage work along southbound I-25 during nighttime hours from Tuesday, Oct. 1, to Friday, Oct. 4.
Closures include:
- Temporary full closure of southbound I-25 between South Academy Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue.
- Temporary full closures of southbound I-25 between South Academy Boulevard and Mesa Ridge Parkway.
- Rerouting of northbound I-25 traffic using the South Academy Boulevard ramps.
- Temporary nighttime closures of South Academy Boulevard lanes under I-25 from Monday to Friday, Sept. 30 through Oct. 4, for electrical conduit and lighting installation under the I-25 bridge deck.
- Left lane closure on southbound I-25 between South Academy Boulevard and Mesa Ridge Parkway on Monday, Sept. 30, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for safety barrier removal.
- Right lane closure on southbound I-25 at Santa Fe Avenue on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. for concrete sign footer installation.
