CSPD investigating possible human remains connected to missing person

UPDATE: MONDAY 10/7/2024 5:47 p.m.

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to law enforcement on scene, the Colorado Springs Police Department and several partner agencies, including the FBI, are conducting a search warrant for possible human remains.

CSPD said remains have been found but it is unclear if they are human, or related to the missing persons case. The Pueblo County Coroner is in the process of collecting the remains to identify them. Agencies will likely be on scene for several more days conducting the search, CSPD said, due to the search area covering several acres.

CSPD did not provide any additional information on which missing persons case this investigation may be connected to. The FBI is responding to provide additional resources.

CSPD said no arrests have been made and there are no persons of interest identified. Second Road will be closed beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 8, to give investigators space to work, CSPD said.
