Vehicle vs motorcycle crash near downtown becomes fatal

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a crash between a vehicle and motorcycle led to one fatality in the evening hours of Saturday, Oct. 5.

According to CSPD, on Saturday at around 8:45 p.m., officers were called to the area of US 24 Frontage Road and West Cimarron Street near downtown Colorado Springs about a crash. When police arrived they learned the crash involved a vehicle and a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle involved was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and while police were still on the scene it was learned the driver had died from their injuries.

CSPD’s Major Crash Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Police said Alcohol and speed are being considered as possible factors in the crash.
