Police investigating overnight shooting near Hancock Expy

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) are investigating a fatal shooting that happened overnight on Tuesday, Oct. 8 in Southeast Colorado Springs.

According to CSPD, on Tuesday at around 3:30 a.m. officers were called to the 2600 block of Durango Drive near Hancock Expressway and South Academy Boulevard. When police arrived they found a man dead on the scene with an apparent gunshot wound.

Police are interviewing witnesses and investigating. Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and are working to identify a suspect. Durango Dr. is expected to be closed until noon.
