CSPD launches new real-time crime center program

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has launched a Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC), a specialized unit with analysts and detectives providing officers with real-time information from department records, law enforcement databases, and integrated technologies.

CSPD said this new program will improve officer and community safety, as well as investigative efficiency.

The RTCC uses a technology platform called Fusus, which is a map-based integration tool that integrates private and public video streams, camera locations, law enforcement data, floor plans, and live updates from first responders. This technology allows information to be shared with officers or detectives in minutes rather than hours, enhancing situational awareness.

The RTCC includes a community initiative called Together COS , which offers Camera Registration and Camera Integration. Through Camera Registration, residents and businesses can notify CSPD of their security cameras, making it easier for officers to request footage by email during investigations. Participation is voluntary, and registering does not grant CSPD direct access to cameras.
