Passengers jump into action after Colorado Springs bus driver suffers seizure

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Footage shared with News5 in Colorado Springs shows the moments two passengers jumped into action after a Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) bus driver suffered a medical emergency.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 along Route 1, Hillside to Hancock Plaza.

According to MMT, the driver experienced a medical emergency while operating the bus and fell out of his seat. Video captured inside the bus shows two men aboard the bus becoming concerned.

One of the men hopped out of his seat and approached the driver, asking, “You alright?” The other man sprinted from the back of the bus up to the driver’s seat and said, “You gotta get on the brake.”

The second man safely stopped the bus near Academy Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard and informed the MMT dispatch that the driver was having a seizure.
