(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) has arrested a man in connection to a shooting that occurred on Thursday, Oct. 31.

When they arrived, deputies issued a shelter-in-place for nearby neighbors and secured the scene. Deputies found two men with non-life-threatening injuries who were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
EPSO determined the incident stemmed from a disturbance the previous night. Everyone involved knew each other. EPSO said the suspect, 77-year-old Gary Spicer, confronted his son-in-law, which led to a verbal fight.
The son-in-law’s roommate intervened, and the son-in-law left the area. Then, another fight ensued between the roommate and Spicer, during which the 77-year-old fired his weapon. EPSO said Spicer was disarmed and subdued until law enforcement arrived.
