Storm Update: Snow totals and forecast for more

(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — Snow has been heaviest over southern areas as expected. So far, the big winners are in the southern Sangre de Cristo mountain range.

Snow will continue across the region on Thursday and be heaviest south of Highway 50 along the Raton Mesa and the southern slopes of the Palmer Divide east of Colorado Springs. The heart of the viewing area is most likely to see 3-6″ additional through sunrise Friday.

Travel will be most difficult in the areas where the heaviest snow is expected. Wind will be lighter than it was on Wednesday so drifting won’t be as big of an issue on the Palmer Divide Thursday.
