Veterans Day Parade to proceed despite snowy forecast

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — “In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade” is not letting anything stop it from marching forward, not even the weather.

On Thursday, the parade’s organizers announced via Facebook the parade will happen as planned, but it is starting at a later time to accommodate the winter conditions.

What you need to know about the new Veterans Day parade

“With all the snow, and after meeting with Colorado Springs Police Department and Mayor Yemi, we’ve agreed to push the start time of this Saturday’s parade to 12 noon,” the parade organizers wrote. “In the meantime please stay home if you can, and if you have to travel, do so slowly and safely!”

The parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 at noon, and will run south on North Tejon Street, from East St. Vrain Street to East Vermijo Avenue. The parade will feature FOX21 Morning News Anchor Craig Coffee as the emcee and multiple organizations, veterans groups and community supporters will participate.
