PALMER LAKE, Colo. (KXRM) — The developer for the proposed Buc-ee’s site in Palmer Lake will host a public information meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Palmer Lake Elementary School at 115 Upper Glenway Road.
The meeting takes place after a recent announcement of plans to build a Buc-ee’s west of I-25 near the County Line exit. Though some are excited to have the popular Texas gas station and convenience store in Southern Colorado, many locals in the Monument and Palmer Lake area fear that it could bring negative attention and traffic to the rural area.

The meeting takes place at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The public is invited and a notice will be posted to the town calendar, though it is not hosted by the town.
The Palmer Lake Board of Trustees is scheduled to establish whether Buc-ee’s is eligible to annex the land for the site in a hearing on Dec. 12.
