‘It’s pretty ridiculous’: Residents react to new report showing how much drivers in Colorado Springs are spending due to road conditions

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -In a new report from TRIP, a national transportation research nonprofit, they say motorists are spending an average of $2,610 due to poor road conditions in the Colorado Springs Area.

“We have not really prioritized adequate bridge and structure road maintenance. It’s become a significant concern around the state,” said Jeff Thormodsgaard, Vice President of Government Affairs, Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC

According to officials with TRIP, they say 28% of roadways are in poor condition and 46% are rated in fair condition which they believe is due a lack of funding at the state level…
