CDOT postpones South Academy closure until Feb. 1 due to weekend’s heavy snowfall

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Colorado Department of Transportation is postponing major road work due to higher-than-anticipated snowfall over the weekend.

“Due to weather impacts, the full closure of southbound South Academy Boulevard between Bradley Road and U.S. 85/87 has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.,” CDOT said in a social media post Sunday.

Crew will be setting up safety barriers and placing new lane striping for continuing bridge deck rehabilitation on the South Academy bridge over Highway 85/87. Drivers are advised to use the following detour:…
