Funeral for unclaimed veteran in Colorado Springs Tuesday

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The community is invited to a funeral service for an unclaimed veteran on Tuesday, March 25.

U.S. Marine Corps veteran Jim E. Van Hoose Jr. will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery (PPNC) on Tuesday morning as an unclaimed veteran. Unclaimed status occurs when a veteran dies with no known or located family to come forward and claim their remains, though community members are encouraged to serve as the veteran’s family for a day by paying their respects and thanking the veteran for their service.
