(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) got a new store in the concourse that will have no checkout counter thanks to technology from Amazon.
The Hudson Nonstop carries last-minute travel needs, grab-and-go snacks, and beverages. The unique aspect of the store is that travelers will not have to scan their purchased items, as it is powered by Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology.
COS describes the technology working with either; a shopper hovering their palm over the Amazon One payment device based on biometrics, picking up their items and walking out of the store, or entering the store, getting their items, and paying with a credit card without the need to scan items. Staff will be available to answer any questions and walk customers through the process.
“We’re excited to bring this state-of-the-art shopping experience to travelers at COS,” said Alex Kovacs, Acting Director of Aviation for COS Airport. “Hudson Nonstop is fast, easy, and tailored for today’s busy passengers who want convenience without compromise. I encourage our passengers to give it a try.”…
