Did You Know That Colorado Has a Money Museum?

Colorado has no shortage of great museums. There’s the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Museum of the Mountain West, and even a museum dedicated entirely to bugs.

However, one Colorado museum is a little different in that it isn’t dedicated to nature, but rather something else that some claim makes the world go round – money.

Colorado is Home to a Money Museum

The American Numismatic Association, commonly known as the money museum, is located at 818 North Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs.

The money museum is filled with all kinds of coins and other types of currency that date back centuries. In fact, one of the museum’s exhibits showcases ancient forms of currency, as seen below.

However, much of the money on display is in the form of coins, which draw numismatics, the technical term for coin collectors, from all over Colorado and beyond.

Any coin collector will likely tell you that it’s important to avoid touching coins in pristine condition as even natural oils found on fingertips can compromise the quality of the currency…
