(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to CSPD, a motorcyclist is dead following a crash on East Platte Avenue that closed the road for several hours.
CSPD said officers originally responded to a crash just before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Platte and Prospect Street. Initial information indicated that a motorcycle was westbound on Platte when it collided with a car that was southbound on Prospect.
When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist in the road with life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving measures by medical personnel, the motorcyclist died of her injuries, CSPD said.

The Colorado Springs Police Department tells FOX21 News it is a fatal crash involving a motorcycle. East Platte Avenue is still closed at North Prospect Street, and police are asking the public to avoid the area.
