Colorado Springs Spring Weather ALERT: Thunderstorms, Hail Risk Continue Friday Afternoon into Monday Night

Colorado Springs, Colorado – Spring storms are staging a multi-day return to southern Colorado, bringing hail, lightning, and gusty winds to Colorado Springs starting Friday afternoon and peaking Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, strong to severe thunderstorms are likely to develop over the central mountains and I-25 corridor Friday through Monday night. The most intense storm activity is expected Monday, with the potential for severe thunderstorms across the plains. Risks include hail up to the size of a quarter, frequent lightning, and winds gusting up to 60 mph.

Showers begin midday Friday with a slight chance of thunderstorms between noon and 3 p.m. North winds could reach 10 mph. While the weekend turns drier with highs near 74°F on Saturday, storm activity ramps up Sunday afternoon.
