Active-duty soldier arrested on federal drug distribution charges

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – An active duty soldier was arrested on federal cocaine distribution charges Wednesday.

According to FBI Denver, Juan Gabriel Orona-Rodriguez is a staff sergeant in the United States Army.

According to the U.S Attorney’s Office, Orona-Rodriguez allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover DEA agent the week of April 21. The complaint also alleges that when investigators obtained a search warrant for his phone, they found text messages between at least September 16, 2024, and April 9, 2025 that showed him buying and selling cocaine…
