CSPD: Minor with an “extensive criminal history” taken into custody

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A minor with an “extensive criminal history” was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 7, after detectives with the Motor Vehicle Theft (MVT) unit began investigating two stolen vehicles allegedly involving the same suspect, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

During their investigation, detectives “…learned this same juvenile pointed a gun at a victim during a burglary of a car, a separate criminal incident,” according to CSPD. Detectives said the alleged incident happened in the 7300 block of Corsicana Drive, near the intersection of Peterson Road and Stetson Hills Boulevard.

While conducting surveillance on late Wednesday night, just before midnight, a detective located the stolen vehicle, a white Hyundai Elantra, with a person inside, in the 6100 block of Dublin Boulevard, near the intersection with Tutt Boulevard…
