(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that on Thursday, May 8, officers responded to a call in which two people were described as passed out in a van that was left running. When officers arrived, it led to two arrests for car theft.
According to CSPD, around 7 p.m. on Thursday, when officers responded to a convenience store parking lot in the 400 block of Flyway Point, near Airport Road and Powers Boulevard, they recognized the van as a vehicle that had run from officers the previous day on Wednesday, May 7, in the 1600 block of North Murray Boulevard, near Palmer Park Boulevard.
CSPD reported that officers made contact with the van as it sat in the convenience store parking lot, but it drove forward, hitting a concrete pylon. Officers blocked the van to prevent it from escaping and took the driver and passenger into custody.
