Colorado Springs filmmaker Dana Kjeldsen is the first to admit he writes challenging movies.
“I don’t write scripts that are easy to produce or act,” he said. “There are a lot of heavy emotions these characters deal with, and a lot of dark places these characters go.”
“Varmint,” his second feature film, was spawned over the course of a half-dozen weekends last summer, inside an ovenlike Black Forest barn, where almost two dozen cast members and a crew, all from Colorado, worked to bring his latest vision to life.
