New streetlights installed at Remington Park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Those who live around Remington Park say they’re glad to have more light in the park after the installation of 13 streetlights.

The push to install the lights began after the fatal stabbing of Tadeo Francisco Villavicencio-Ramirez in the park on June 17, 2024. As of this time, there still has not been an arrest.

The death wasn’t the only incident in the park that neighbors were concerned about. A month later, community members met with Colorado Springs police and city officials to share their concerns about what was happening at the park after dark. Concerns ranged from juvenile behavior to street racing, and even drug activity…
