DENVER (KDVR) — Over the weekend, starting on June 20 and ending on June 21, the Colorado State Patrol set up temporary sobriety checkpoints in Douglas and Arapahoe Counties.
The two counties combined totaled 1025 contacts made and 10 arrests for people driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Arapahoe County
People were stopped at the checkpoint, producing statistics, including:
- Total contacts made: 42
- Total DUI/D arrests: 4
- Total roadsides: 7
- Previous offenders: 1
- Seatbelt citations: 1
Douglas County
On June 20 and 21, the checkpoints were set up from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and produced statistics, including:
- Total contacts made: 983
- Total DUI/D arrests: 6
- Total roadsides: 17
While troopers were stationed at the sobriety checkpoints, they encountered one wrong-way driver in the area surrounding the checkpoint.
CSP planned to have a sobriety checkpoint in Alamosa County on June 14, but it has been rescheduled to occur in the upcoming weeks…
