Woman and dog rescued from rollover crash

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs first responders provided some much-needed assistance and comfort for the victims, both two and four-legged, of a car crash on Friday, June 27.

According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), crews responded on Friday afternoon to a rollover crash near the intersection of Issaquah Drive and Peterson Road in the Stetson Hills neighborhood. CSFD said a woman and her dog were trapped in the car.

While crews worked to free the driver and provide medical care, officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) stepped in to comfort another scared victim of the crash, a little dog named Kirby.

After the driver of the car was freed from the wreckage and taken to the hospital by ambulance, CSFD said officers stayed on scene with Kirby until he could be picked up by his family…
