Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo kicks off with 82nd parade

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — More than 120 horses trotted through downtown Colorado Springs on Saturday, July 5, turning the streets into a full-blown western roundup for the 82nd Pikes Peak or Bust parade.

This beloved event is the official kickoff to the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, a Colorado Springs tradition since 1937.

The festivities kicked off with the crowd-favorite, Lil’ Cowpokes stick horse races. More than 4,000 people showed up to cheer on the 55 floats in the parade, with this year’s theme being “Glitter and gold.”…
