CSPD: Suspect assaults ex, another man inside her home

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Sunday morning, July 6, where they found two victims bleeding from an assault, in which the ex of one of the victims had reportedly attacked her and another man inside her home, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

CSPD reported that around 5 a.m., officers arrived at the scene in the 600 block of Cana Grove, near South Murray Boulevard and East Fountain Boulevard, where they found the two victims and the suspect still at the scene. They learned that the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Michael Sotelo-Ballesteros, had broken into the home armed with a knife and attacked the man and woman.

According to CSPD, while officers were taking Sotelo-Ballesteros into custody, he assaulted officers, causing minor injuries. He was arrested and charged with several offenses, including 1st Degree Burglary, Attempted Murder, and 2nd Degree Assault…
