(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is highlighting the efforts of K9 Kylo for their help in apprehending a suspect of vehicle theft.
According to CSPD, on Wednesday, July 2, CSPD officers found a stolen Subaru driving in the area of North Nevada Avenue and Garden of the Gods Road. Detectives and air support from the Colorado State Patrol Air Unit conducted surveillance. During surveillance, the suspect was seen exiting the vehicle and was seen to have what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband and a mask over his face.

Additional help was requested from the Tactical Enforcement Unit and the K9 unit, who kept surveillance. The suspect eventually stopped the vehicle in a parking lot, and TEU officers blocked the vehicle to prevent it from leaving.
CSPD said K9 Kylo was brought up to support the arrest team while officers issued commands. Canine warnings were given, and Kylo gave some enthusiastic barks, which encouraged the suspect to exit the vehicle and peacefully surrender…
