Suspect pulls out gun after employees and customers try to stop shoplifter

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A shoplifting turned violent Sunday evening after police say customers and employees tried to stop one of the suspects — and the other suspect pulled out a gun.

The crime was reported just after 7 at the Broadmoor Towne Center off Southgate Road and Lake Avenue. According to police, a man and a woman were seen helping themselves to merchandise at an unnamed store. It quickly became apparent they intended to steal the items.

“The male suspect exited, returned to his vehicle, obtained a gun and waited outside near the doors. The female confederate exited with the stolen merchandise,” a CSPD lieutenant said…
