Shelter-in-place lifted in Briargate after police investigate suspicious package

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Colorado Springs Police Department issued a shelter-in-place order for an area in Briargate on Monday evening.

At 5:01 p.m., CSPD issued the shelter-in-place order for 4000 Briargate Parkway after police said a suspicious package was found padlocked to a bus stop bench, located between several hospital campuses, including UCHealth Memorial Hospital North and Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Police asked those in the area to secure their home or businesses, stay away from doors and windows and shelter in a safe place until further notice…
