DEA operation at Colorado Springs apartment, five arrested

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Resident Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) made multiple arrests during an operation in Colorado Springs on Thursday, Aug. 7.

According to the DEA’s Rocky Mountain Field Division, agents executed two search warrants at the Village East Apartments on Hathaway Drive, off Platte Avenue, in an operation on Thursday.

The apartments were allegedly being used to distribute drugs by Mexican cartel members. During the execution of the warrant, agents found a handgun, fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and a large amount of money. Five individuals were arrested for immigration violations and transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
