Viewer concern over abandoned vehicles in Colorado Springs leads to City’s response on towing policy

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A Colorado Springs resident says broken-down, stolen, and stripped vehicles are being left on city streets for weeks, and in some cases, months, without being towed. The city confirms towing was scaled back for a time this summer, but says operations have since returned to normal.

Patric Ryan contacted KKTV 11 News after spotting what he believed was a stolen vehicle in his neighborhood. He said it had been parked in the same spot since July 13.

“And someone from City Council called me just yesterday and said that the budget situation was so dire that all of these departments are frozen and they may be able to revisit the issue in November,” Ryan said…
