COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -A lantern festival planned for Colorado Springs has been postponed again, making this the sixth delay since last August.
The Lights Fest, promoted as a family-friendly sky lantern event, was first scheduled for Aug. 16, 2024. Since then, it has been rescheduled several times:
- Aug. 16, 2024: Postponed, no reason listed.
- Oct. 12, 2024: Postponed because of a fire ban.
- Nov. 9, 2024: Postponed due to weather.
- Dec. 2024: Postponed, citing the “likelihood of snow.”
- April 5, 2025: Postponed due to fire restrictions.
- June 7, 2025: Postponed because of heavy rain.
- Aug. 16, 2025: Postponed again this week, citing fire concerns.
As of Friday, a new date had not been announced.
11 News contacted event organizer Colin Mackay multiple times on Friday. His voicemail was full. A person listed as a complaint handler for the event was also contacted, but calls were not returned…
