District attorney says Douglas County is being victimized by non-residents

About eight months after taking office as the 23rd Judicial District’s district attorney, George Brauchler, addressed the media to discuss his initial goals and takeaways thus far. However, he said one message was clear — While crime is down in Douglas County, the judicial system’s supervision is failing county residents.

“We are being victimized in big numbers by people who don’t live here,” Brauchler said.

Operating out of the 23rd Judicial District, the Douglas County Community Justice Services division is composed of multiple programs and is responsible for processing all the people who get arrested and taken to jail…
