Pueblo and Colorado Springs Storms: Ping-Pong Ball Size Hail Possible Between 2–8 p.m.

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Severe thunderstorms are expected across the Pikes Peak region Monday afternoon, bringing the potential for hail up to the size of ping-pong balls, damaging winds, and flash flooding. The National Weather Service in Pueblo says the most intense storms are likely between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., with high confidence in hazardous impacts.

According to the National Weather Service, hail could reach 1.5 inches in diameter with wind gusts pushing near 60 mph. Heavy rainfall may trigger localized flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas and burn scar regions around El Paso and Teller counties. Drivers along I-25 between Monument and Pueblo should prepare for sudden reduced visibility and ponding water on roadways.

Colorado Springs, Fountain, Woodland Park, and surrounding communities face the highest risk window late this afternoon. Residents are urged to secure outdoor furniture, avoid unnecessary travel, and remain indoors when thunder roars.
