Dozens of hot air balloons set to rise high above major Colorado city this weekend

Dozens of hot air balloons are set to rise about Colorado Springs over Labor Day Weekend – weather pending.

Capable of attracting more than 250,000 attendees over the long weekend, it’s estimated that about 70 to 80 balloons take flight during the festival, most of which do so several times. The event is set to take place Saturday through Monday in the city’s Memorial Park, which is located just east of downtown and is home to Prospect Lake.

On August 30, the morning session will kick off at 5:15 a.m. when the park and concessions open, followed by a 6 a.m. drone show and a 7 a.m. balloon lift off.
