(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has released the identity of the suspect who barricaded himself inside a Stratmoor home with two small children on Wednesday, as well as the serious allegations for which the man was wanted.
According to CSPD, on Saturday, Aug. 23, an investigation was launched into reports of a man with a gun who was representing himself as a federal agent. Investigators identified the suspect as 23-year-old Antonio Mellon and obtained an arrest warrant.
EPSO SWAT Team members and other law enforcement agencies were attempting to apprehend Mellon on that warrant Wednesday morning when he allegedly barricaded himself inside the home on Burnham Street with two small children inside.
