Climber rescued in Colorado after lengthy technical rescue

A climber was recovered after a lengthy technical rescue in the Rampart/Devil’s Head area on Monday.

Douglas County Search and Rescue (DCSAR) said that it was a two-pitch high-angle rescue to get to the subject and get him down. Then, there was a complex exposed carry with another shorter pitch high angle lowering. Rescue teams also had to get through various low-angle pitches through challenging terrain before making it to Rampart and the ambulance that took the patient to a helicopter.

The climber is now getting further care for injuries from the fall…
