Colorado Springs residents can’t see it due to cloud cover in the Pikes Peak region, but there’s officially snow on top of America’s Mountain.
After a swing from warmer temperatures earlier this week, the expected high in Colorado Springs on Friday is just 56 degrees with a low set in the 40s. Meanwhile, temperatures in the upper 20s were present on the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak on Friday morning, with precipitation resulting in a dusting of snow. Another inch of snow is expected on the peak on Saturday night, per the Mountain-Forecast.com report.
While this snow should melt quickly in most places on the peak as temperatures in the upper 30s and 40s are expected on the mountain over upcoming days, this snow serves as a stark reminder of weather conditions that hit this mountain and many others around the state at this point in the year…
