(COLORADO SPRINGS) — While conducting a search warrant in an apartment west of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) detectives found over a pound of cocaine and more than $28,000 on Thursday, Sept. 4, around 11:30 a.m., according to police.
CSPD reported that the Metro Narcotics Unit (MNU) learned that illegal drugs were being distributed from an apartment on North Spruce Street, near West Pikes Peak Avenue. Detectives began to investigate in the area, conducting several types of surveillance to identify the apartment in the complex where the distributors lived and sold large amounts of drugs.
At one point, police stopped a vehicle that had been observed involved in a transaction with the dealer, according to CSPD. A narcotics K9 was brought to the vehicle to investigate, and drugs were discovered in the vehicle, leading detectives to identify the specific apartment and obtain a search warrant…
