EPSO: Lifesaving efforts save man suffering overdose

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) said first responders needed two doses of Narcan and an automated external defibrillator (AED) to save a man suffering from an overdose on Saturday, Sept. 6.

According to EPSO, on Saturday at around 8 p.m., deputies were called to a home in the Security-Widefield area of unincorporated El Paso County. When deputies arrived, they found a 40-year-old man unresponsive on the floor, with the caller on the phone with the dispatcher and administering CPR.

Deputies took over lifesaving efforts and administered Narcan. Soon after, emergency medical personnel from the Security Fire Department arrived and continued lifesaving efforts. After a second dose of Narcan and using an AED, the man regained consciousness…
