In the late hours of September 2, tragedy struck on Rampart Range Road in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Police Department received a distress call around 12:20 AM about a serious traffic accident, as reported by the City of Colorado Springs. The crash, which involved a vehicle veering off the road and rolling multiple times, resulted in one fatality and another person narrowly managing to escape and signal for assistance. The Colorado Springs Fire Department was dispatched to join law enforcement officers in responding to the distressing scene.
An investigation spearheaded by CSPD’s Major Crash Team began to piece together the events of that night. One passenger, somehow able to emerge from the wreckage, succeeded in finding a passing motorist to call for help.
