CSPD: Two unrelated shootings take place 20 minutes apart

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), two unrelated shootings took place in different parts of town around 20 minutes apart in Colorado Springs on Friday evening, Sept. 26.

The first shooting happened around 5:40 p.m. on Friday in the 900 block of Potter Place, near Galley Road and North Murray Boulevard, according to CSPD. When officers arrived, they found that a man had been shot and sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.

The second shooting, according to CSPD, took place around 6 p.m. in the 4400 block of College Park Court, near North Union Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway. Officers responded to a report of shots fired, and when they arrived at the scene, they interacted with a man who said he had shot a round into a vehicle.
